Hello all.......
Did anyone make it to the 25th anniversary of Marshman Jewellers? I DID!! Last night at the Quinte Mall Marshman's held a fundraising event for United Way of Quinte (in honour of Marshman's 25th Anniversary). It was awesome! There were silent auctions for cool stuff that had been donated (including jewellry), door prizes, raffle draws, food, a chocolate fountain, music, and wine and champaigne!! 2 lucky people even won a cruise!! No, alas, I was not one of them. I did however indulge in a glass of champaigne......... 100 glasses only were sold....every glass came with a pair of cubic zirconia earrings, and one lucky gal won a pair of real diamond earrings with hers. Guess we should have had a few more glasses, lol.
It was a great event and a fun night. I bought a few tickets for the BIG prize raffle too.....a platnum & diamond pendant worth over $8000. The winner will be announced today.....I am expecting that call very soon....lol :)
Another cool thing about the night was that Julia Gossen from the United Way was there as well, so I got to speak with her for a moment. Very nice lady. We just met Julie a couple of weeks ago when she came to our Public Relations class at Loyalist College to speak to us about running our own fundraising event for the United Way.
Well, all in all it was a lot of fun and good to see people coming out to support a great cause. I better go.....I need to be available for the "winning" phone call.... I think I here the phone ringing....lol.......
